Ingredients
  • 1 pound fresh green beans, trimmed
  • 1 medium onion, thinly sliced
  • 4 oz fresh sliced mushrooms
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 2 teaspoons minced garlic
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 teaspoon balsamic vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • ½ teaspoon dried thyme
  • ½ teaspoon kosher salt
  • ¼ teaspoon fresh ground pepper
Instructions
  1. In a steamer, stem green beans for about 8 to 10 minutes.
  2. Meanwhile in a large skillet heat olive oil. Add the onions and mushrooms. Sautee for about 10 minutes, until mostly caramelized.
  3. Add the garlic and cook for 1 to 2 minutes more.
  4. Place the cooked green beans in a large pot over medium low heat. Add the mushroom mix and butter. When the butter melts, add the balsamic vinegar, soy sauce and spices. Heat through. Serve
